Bushscarft was founded by Christiane Dreismann, a passionate textile crafter originally from Germany. She started with a dressmaking apprenticeship, followed by design school. From there, weaving with natural fibers became her passion. Inspired by the natural beauty of the Garden Route, South Africa, she expresses her inspiration through the vivid and strong color contrasts in her scarves. 

Our handwoven bamboo scarves are made with the finest quality yarn spun from bamboo. This is one of the fastest growing, renewable and sustainable plants on earth.

All yarns are hand dyed in Cape Town by passionate independent craftswomen who take pride in the vivid colors, deep shades and elegant shine finish of the yarn.

Our handwoven mohair scarves are made from the highest quality kid mohair yarn from the Karoo, the ideal location provides the best conditions for the Angora sheep’s mohair.  Resulting in a much lighter but warmer and durable scarf.

They are perfect for cool summer evenings as well as cozy winter nights by the fire.
